Temple

The Salt Lake temple is so pretty and recently Travis and I got a chance to attend a wedding there.
This has nothing to do with that Wedding, and you can hardly see the temple, but I convinced someone to take our picture.

and I love it.


I love the temple.
I love weddings.
I love my husband Travis.

Christmas (a.m.)

I love Christmas. I love it more than any other holiday in the whole year.
This year we had Christmas morning with Travis's family, Christmas evening with the Patch family, and (hopefully) we will spend the rest of the holiday with my family up in Montana.
(we should be there now, but 12 hours before we were supposed to leave our car broke down.... again.)

So here are some of my favorite pictures of Christmas morning with the Pitchers:

and my favorite blurry pictures of the day (and trust me there were lots of blurry pictures). This is Tate trying to tackle Tessa and consequently being thrown on to the couch and sat upon, oooh, it's fun to have little brothers to pick on!

Today all those things came together. I got to be with my friends: Sophie, Maude, and Casey and take their picture, and then play with the photos on photoshop.

Elder Matt Patt

Last year when I went home for surgery I was lucky enough to be in town for my friend Matt's baptism. Matt and I were friends in high school, and although I was not a huge part of his conversion it was defiantly a big deal for me (and obviously for him.) Monday morning Matt flew out to Utah and yesterday he went into the MTC (Missionary Training Center).
We got to spend Tuesday night in Salt Lake and then Travis and I dropped Matt off. Here are a couple pictures from the last few days.
I am so happy and proud of Matt, he's leaving for Mexico in about two months... just long enough to learn Spanish.

This is the pipe organ in the Conference Center, luckily it was still set up from the Christmas devotional. We took a tour and learned all kinds of interesting facts. For example the Conference Center seats over 21 thousand people.


The pipe organ on the top has about 7.5 thousand working pipes. The less impressive-looking organ on the bottom actually has 11.5 thousand working pipes. It amazes me because it looks to much smaller!

For those of you who know Matt, even if you're not LDS you should write him a letter. Being in the MTC over Christmas is hard and he can probably use all the cheerful mail he get. Email me for his address.

photo blog

I wanted to make a title for this post where I combined the words photo and blog, but all of my ideas were gross sounding and confusing (for example, pholog.)
But that is a digression.
Here is my point:

We have a photo blog. We're calling ourselves Tandem Bike Photography because we are doing all our photo stuff together, but that still may change. Any other ideas of names for our blossoming business? Leave them in the comments!

The Spirit of Christmas

Maybe its just because its Christmas time, or maybe people are nice all year round and I'm just more inclined to notice around the holidays, but people are nice.
Unbelievably nice. Not all people.
But some people.
So I want to advertise two specific people:
First, my professor of Pearl of Great Price, Kerry Mulhestein. If you have to take PoGP at BYU take it from him. First he is very knowledgeable and you learn a lot but his class is not too hard.
Second, if you get married and then get the flu and skip class every day and don't do your homework until late because you know you'll fail poetry if you don't spend every minute of your life working for that class and then you send Kerry an email apologizing that all your assignments were turned in a month late he will respond with this little number:

Dear Rebeccah,

Here is a late wedding gift for you. Get those papers in before the end of classes, and email me, and I’ll give you full credit. For the third response paper, write a page about how something in the PoGP can enhance your marriage. After the last day of class I can’t accept any work, so do it right away.

I am very excited for your marriage, and would like to make it a more positive semester to have been married in.

Kerry Muhlestein

Can we talk about the nicest man in the world? It specifically says in the syllabus that anything turned in late will automatically be marked for 50%. Dang, Muhlestein. Thank you.

Second man is John from Board of Provo, a skateboarding, skiing, and snowboarding shop in Provo. Let me first describe how cute his shop is: His little puppies are always there, sometimes his wife is there, and if she is then their two little kids are there. Yesterday when we came in (and John was like "Hey guys, how are you Travis?" Because he knows us by name) his three year old daughter was doing somersaults and calling out, "Look at me Dad! Look at me Daddy!"
It was so cute!
And Travis said "I'm taking my brother snowboarding tomorrow at Sundance for demo day." (Board of Provo brings their boards out and lets you rent them for free in the hopes that you buy one) "and I was wondering if you were going to have any boards his size?"
John asked how tall he was, his foot size, and his weight and then disappeared downstairs. He came back with a newly hot waxed board and boots and told Travis it would be a pain to wait in line for a new board, and he could just take this one tonight and have Tate use it.
Also, he could do this for free.
John and Travis are not really friends. They just chat a little over the counter when we buy new mittens or a coat every once and a while.
Renting a board for the day is usually about 25 dollars.
He just made Travis promise to bring it back.

Gah! I cannot get over it.
It is so nice.
I love Christmas. I love nice people.

So if you need a new snowboard, go to Board of Provo.
And if you need a religion Professor, or a Professor of Egyptian Excavation and Ancient Near Eastern studies, get Professor Muhlestein.

Special thanks to my Grandma Marcie who has been giving me an ornament a year since my birth. (That cute little mouse says Becky 1990 on it! That means I got it when I was one!) We actually had somethings to decorate our tree with. That goofy barbie ornament was for Christmas from my cousin Dillon one year and I still totally love it.
I spent far too long taking pictures of my tree. Like an hour, in fact.

But it's real and it smells heavenly. Our whole house smells like Christmas.

Christmas Card

Family pictures are super fun!
Maybe not so fun to take, but always super fun to have.

This is the second time that I've been in pictures where we set up a tripod, focused the camera, set the timer and then ran back to stand with the family.
Despite that, I think they turned out quite well.

First, our little family:
Travis and Becky. I think we're quite cute. Travis knit the scarf I'm wearing. Very impressive, no? Other couples include:
