Tyler + Jessica

**oops, I started this several days ago and then forgot to actually post it! I just saved it in my drafts.
Anyway, here it is.

Check out some of Jessica and Tyler's engagement pictures on my photoblog.
Also, my website, which is still slowly being worked over, is starting to look more like a real website.... a little. So check that out too. Sure most of the folders are empty, but after I actually edit and post pictures the food section will be filled with food I didn't personally bake and the wedding folders will have more than one wedding.
All in time. I just have to be more pro-active in working on it.

I pledge to read the printed word

I am all over this.
There's an organization called Read The Printed Word, whose mission statement is thus:

We support the printed word in all its forms: newspapers, magazines and, of course, books. We think reading on computers or phones or whatever is fine, but it cannot replace the experience of reading words printed on paper. We pledge to continue reading the printed word in the digital era and beyond.

Just a few weeks ago my sister Mary called me in a panic. She had heard a rumor that Google was trying to digitize books. Not just to make them more convenient, but to save trees.
That could only lead to one thing (especially knowing how powerful Google is!): NO MORE BOOKS.

This was very upsetting.
I LOVE that this organization isn't being called Read the Written-Word, but PRINTED word.
So I pledge to read books. Real books.

Last week I finished rereading one of my all-time favorite books, My Anotonia. Actually, both times I've read it it's been for a class.

I'm currently reading On the Banks of Plum Creek. I guess I read the Little House books when I was a kid, but I have no memory of any of them. I LOVE them.

Last, but not least, I'm trying to read Ender's Game aloud to Travis, because I'm sure that he would love it, if only he had the time to read it.

photography give away

Remember how I love to play photographer?

Well I now have a website. A beautiful, beautiful website. It is everything I hoped for and over the next couple months it will get better and prettier. It will be filled with more and more photographs. It will be more advanced.

I will have pictures posted of people who are not my relatives.

So. Because I already kind of wanted to, and because Kendra suggested it and that makes me feel like I am not so goofy doing it.
I am going to do a give away.

I still need to build up my portfolio and I need to practice taking pictures of people that I am not related to, so I am going to give away a photosession.

I know I'll probably get like two comments, but that means you have extra chances of winning!
So if you live in the Wasatch area (or if you live further but are willing to help pay for traveling, even gas to Ogden is like 30$!) then I want to take your picture!
Leave a comment and I'll even do that random generator thing, no favorites, cross my heart.
Also, even if you've just stumbled upon this blog today, please leave a comment.

Now, if you want me to photograph engagement pictures or a wedding I will do it for free if you leave a comment or email me because my portfolio of engagement and wedding pictures are severlly lacking. I have a wedding this weekend, but until then the wedding section of my website is "Under Construction"

Here is the link to my new website (which is different from the blog): Tandem Bike Photography
