The tip-top tier

I was just looking at some wedding pictures and I love how teeny-tiny our cake looks!
Especially since I've been watching Cake Boss and these people have jumbonormous cakes, and ours is just like the tiny tip-top of a cake.
But I love it.
And there was just enough to cut and eat and it was delicious.

And also, I think my dad had a piece... but no one else did.
Aaand I think my cousin Nichole took this picture.
It was on my facebook...

p.s. Look how long my hair is!
Aaand what a big dork I am in that sweater. In my defense, I was freezing.

Wedding Pictures

Sorry for my lack of time and energy, but look at the rest of Christine's beautiful pictures of the wedding on my facebook. (You can look even if we're not friends, or you don't have a facebook. Just click on the link.)

wedding HOLGAS!

Our quick photographer has gotten us our Holga photos from the big day, with the rest of the photos on their way! Check out how great they are on her website. Sadly, some turned out dark, and some turned out too bright, but the unique and temperamental nature of a plastic camera is what makes us love it so much!

Aren't they lovely!
I cannot wait to see the digital pictures! eeek, the suspense!

Sister Lisa saves the day!

There are finally some wedding pictures up!
Look at them on Lisa's blog.

p.s. If you want me to keep writing, I could use some encouragement. Does anyone read this besides my mom and sisters?

I'm back.

Sort of.
It's been really really crazy hard to write on my blog lately.
Not just because I'm pressed for time, but because if I go back to reading and checking blogs and doing all my normal things than everything must be back to normal.
Can you blame me? I don't want the honeymoon to end!

Speaking of honeymoon... it was lovely. We hung out in Salt Lake and other areas. Travis made me hike through a mountain to a waterfall, so I made him hike through several malls to several different Gaps.
It's only fair, I think.
We have pictures of the honeymoon, but again, I don't feel like getting things done.

Except that we ARE getting things done. Yesterday we went to IKEA and bought some shelves, and stuff to hang pots and pans, and our kitchen is becoming better, better, BETTER! It will take lotsa more work, but it's nice to work on my home with my husband.

So because this has a sad lack of pictures, and my photographers (official being Christine, and unofficial being Lisa and Dad) have not actually shown me any pictures from the wedding yet, I will give you a couple links to wedding pictures taken by my friends and family. Lana, Grandma Mary, Lisa, and Grandma Marcie

Love always,
Mrs. Pitcher

one week

one week and I'll be getting MARRIED!
that countdown is totally off.
A DAY off.

This close to the day, that really matters.

So, if you want to get me a present, here are some things I've been dying for lately.
Or, if you don't want to get me a present, or have already gotten me a present, this is just a bakers wish list.
Bread pans, if I had bread pans I could make something that looks like this:

Creme brulee dishes, so I could make these little beauties:

Souffle dishes, because who doesn't want to eat this after dinner?

aaand tart pans, (little ones mostly, but big ones too!):

P.S. I didn't take this pictures, but I want to be a food photographer.

bridezilla

You know how everything always seems to fall apart, right at the same time?
Kind people who don't spend a lot of time with me have recently started to say "Wow! Your wedding is just a few weeks away and you seem totally calm."
Those people don't spend time with me when I'm having wedding breakdowns.
People like Travis, my sister, my mother, and my old roommates know that I am not actually totally calm.
In fact, if my family actually managed to come, the reception hall was figured out, the hem of my dress wasn't lopsided, and we had actually ordered and tasted pies, I would still probably be freaking out.

Interestingly enough, many of my problem lately have been derivied from one central problem, but tonight, oh tonight! all of my problems are new and fresh.
I'm trying to not become a monster, but it's harder than it seems.

Also, note to my parents and grandmothers: stop accusing me of not caring about anything. As it so happens, I have had to learn not to care about anything wedding related, so that when it inevitably falls through, I do not need to be upset. I'm sorry I don't have a decisive view on table cloth colors.

a house! a house! a dress! a dress!

Today Travis and I signed contracts for a house to live in after we get married. It's not a full house, just an apartment within a house. But it is AWESOME and PERFECT and has a freaking YARD!
Pictures tonight, tonight, tonight!
Also, I got my dress, thank you, thank you, thank you ebay and Mary.
The dress, the dress, it is lovely, lovely.
The house, the house, is filled with gems (gems!) like a window seat bench that opens, and built in bookshelves and on old fashioned bathtub, a BATHTUB! Just yesterday I gave up the hope that I might have a bathtub, and was disappointed to accept that we'd probably end up somewhere with only a shower.
gah! I love it. I love them both. I am so happy, happy, happy.
(evidently my excitement is being displayed by the repetition of words here...)

Wish me congrats you folks and fellas out there.

p.s. the colors for the wedding have been chosen. If you're coming and feel like coordinating your outfit, here they are:

They're not exact, but they're close. So men, if you have a GRAY suit, wear it, not a black or brown (or otherwise) suit. If you only have a black, brown or otherwise suit, then you may wear it.

You will look dashing.

in seventy-one days

that's how long I have to plan my wedding, which will be on October 10th.
If you're thinking, "why so soon?"
this is why: we don't want to get married in the winter, and we don't want to wait for spring, and in the words of Billy Crystal: when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to begin as soon as possible
But because this wedding is CRAZY fast, I've been CRAZY hectic. Here is what yesterday looked like:
730am: I wake up because I haven't really slept since I've been engaged.
800am: I shower and get dressed etc.
840am: after calling and calling my fiancé, I realize that he is not actually awake for our 900am appointment for house tour, and leave to go get him.
850am: cram down a bowl of cherrios while I wait for him to wash his face.
900am-1130am: Drive around looking at houses. Find one we LOVE and beg the people to let us have their contracts.
1130am-1230pm: my first hour of work at the law school.
1230pm-130pm: we look at one more house, eat a hot dog, and rush to a fabric store.
130pm-330pm: my second half of work at the law school.
330pm-400pm: what? a break!
400pm-730pm: my shift at the Mtc.
730pm-800pm: showered and ate some chips
800pm-1000pm: went to the Pitchers for Noelle's birthday and finally got to eat some dinner. (I also got some sweet gifts from Camille too. I LOVE them.)
1000pm-1230am: planned my wedding with the Pitchers.
1230am-130am: responding to emails, talking to mary, etc.
This is too much.
GAH
Good thing I happen to LOVE planning a wedding, and I have a wonderful, insanely involved and helpful finacé. (Not to mention Mary, Sophie and my Mom. Thanks for keeping me sane.)
I'll try to find a spare moment to write again soon.
Oh, and if anyone wants to take pictures for us sometime soon, we'd love you forever. We want a couple different people to take engagement photos, and so far we have Lisa, Brooke, and maybe Maude lined up.
